So help me if I hear one more person use the word "TiVo-proof" so help me I'm going to shoot someone in the face.I bring this up because of this story about Staples putting their MailMate office document shredder being placed in an upcoming episode of "The Office" on NBC. The product will be, according to a Staples spokesperson, an integral part of the episode, but how that's going to work isn't stated. This is Staples second major foray into product placement, the first coming last year in an episode of "The Apprentice."

1. Eesh, I hope it's subtle. In an episode of General Hospital, maybe two or three weeks ago, a woman came into the hospital thinking she was in labor. (She was also distracting one of the characters from finding out something important.) Anyway, she's there with the nurses and they're going to take her to a room, when her husband comes through the elevator holding a mini tv. Then, the bunch of them, (woman, husband, a few main characters) have this awkward exchange about if the husband will be able to watch monday night football! They even plugged the teams.. so lame. Soo very lame. It just came out of nowhere and reeked of product placement. Ptooey.
Do it smoothly if you're gonna do it, but they might as well stop mid-way and say "this segment brought to you by.."
